All life on Earth began in the seas. We really do owe everything to them.
Life on our planet is wonderfully unique and simultaneously diverse, from the giants of the deep and the terrestrial beings, to the those airborne marvels whose feet only touch solid earth when nesting. Common to every single life-form on our planet, however, is a single ancestor; something eons ago that first began the incredible journey that is 'life'.
So much of our existence even now depends on our oceans. They are precious. We should celebrate them.
